Delila (?) Purser, born 1786, NC

I am searching for the name of my gg grandfather William M. Purser's father. William M. was born 08/21/1825 in GA. His mother was Delila (?) born 1786 in Beaufort Co., NC . I have located 5 Pursers in the 1790 census of Beaufort Co., NC of whom I suspect could be the husband of Delila and the father of William M. (also one may be his grandfather).
They are:
James Purser, Sr. - 2 males under age 16 in his household.
James Purser, (Jr)- 2 males under age 16.
David Purser, Sr. - 1 male under age 16.
David Purser, Jr. - 1 male under age 16.
Robert Purser, - 2 males under age 16.
3 of these men were listed in the 1781 Militia and I suspect that it was one of their children who was married to Delila.
If anyone has any info on this matter, I would appreciate it very much if you would share it with us.It has been handed down to us (The Pursers of Simpson County Mississippi), that William M. Purser was a cousin to the Pursers of neigboring Copiah County. We know that they are descendants of David Purser, so I believe that I am on the right track with this line. Also, Frederick Purser, son of David, who settled in Copiah Co., MS had 2 males living in his household in the 1840 Yalobusha County, MS census that were not his children, and one would have been the age of William M. Purser. My theory is that maybe William's father had died and he and perhaps a brother were living with Frederick and his family.
If anyone can be of help in clearing this matter, I would appreciate it very much.
