I have Sarah Purkey daughter of John and Rebecca Purkey was born Sept. 23, 1829, died Jan. 14, 1864 wed on May 5, 1860 to Arilus Amasa Russell b. 1837, d.Nov. 1864.
Children:
1 - Sarah, died in infancy
2- Aurelia Jane b. 12-18-1864, d.1-18-1936
wed Nathaniel Evans McCants b.9-26-1853, d.12-12-1924.
Children: 1-** Louise Jane b. 3-26-1893, d.10-10-1947
wed: Ernest Delesline Tyler b.5-24-1891,
d.2-14-1980, buried Rehoboth United
Methodist Church Cemetery, Macbeth,
Berkeley County, S.C.
2 - Jennie Lee b. 11-19-1901, d.2-12-1979,
wed Charles Markel Raymond, no issue.

Jane Margaret Purkey the daughter of John and R.F.Purkey was born March 12, 1827.
Sarah Susanah Purkey the daughter of John and Rebecca Purkey was born Sept. 23, 1829.
John A. Purkey was born in the year of our Lord March 12, 1799.
Wm. H. Purkey was born in the year of our Lord July 2, 1802.
DEATHS
and ower son H. Purkey departed this life on 11 of May 1824.
Sarah Sanders departed thid life July 16,1831.
John Alexander Purkey departed this life June 24, 1836 - Friday morning on Edisto Island - age (37 or 39) years, 3 months and 12 days.
Rebecca F. Purkey departed this life August 25, 1839 - age 34 years, 6 months, and 25 days.
Her son John A. Purkey died b.3-12-1827 d. 1887.
and her daughter, Mrs Jane Margaret Harvey died Oct. 23, 1888, age 63 years.
and my sister Jane M. Byrd departed this life May 28, in the year of our Lord 1829.
Sarah S. Russell, the daughter of John and Rebecca Purkey died Jan. 1891, age 61 years and 2 months.
John A. Purkey and his wife Rebecca F. Purkey was married the 30 January in the year of our Lord 1823.
MARRIAGES: John A. Purkey and his wife Rebecca F. Purkey was married the 30 January 1823.
Thomas J. Harvey and Jane M.Purkey was married the 13 August 1849.
John A. Purkey and Jane Doss was married. (that's all it has)
A.A. Russell and Sarah S. Purkey was married the 6 of MAy 1860.
My sister Jane M. Purkey was married to John M. Byrd March 18,in the year of out Lord 1824.
I realize there are repetitions, but this just how it was written / copied and given to my mother, Ernestine Tyler Weeks. I want to know more about this family. Where did they come from, why, what did they do, anything.
Sorry to have taken so much space for this, but I need to know.
