Mabel Frances Purkey married Ernest Preston Cruise and divorced. Then married William Howard Bradley (from Tennessee) in W.VA. in 1932 and moved to Alcoa, TN in 1937. Her grandmother was Lucinda Nelson who married John Hoy Smith. Lucinda was of the Seneca Indians via her mother.

Mabels mother, Mary Catherine Smith married Thomas Jeffersson Purkey born Feb 5, 1871 who was killed in a log train accident on Sept. 25, 1903. She then married Miles Hedrick. Mary born in 1874, died in 1943 and is buried in Rosemont Cemetery along with her 2nd husband in Lewisburg, W.VA. She had 8 living children: David Clinton Purkey born 1893, Frank George Purkey born 1899, Ethel Ellen Purkey born 1904 (married a Persinger ad then Elmer Bostick), John Hoy Purkey 1895, Lily May Purkey -White 1897, Mabel Frances Purkey-Cruise-Bradley 1907. Charles Hedrick lived in Portsmouth, VA born 1910 and Arthur Hedrick, 1912, lived in McKeesport, PA.

Mary Catherine was my grandmother and Mabel Frances is my mother. My grandmother lived in Frog Hollow, Lewisburg, W/VA. where I was born. I am a sister of your grandfather Ernest Preston Cruise (changed his name to John Cruze) Where is your grandfather and is he still living? I lost track of him when mother died and last I heard he was in Yuma, AZ and I have no address for him. I live in Deer Park, TX with my husband and we have two grown sons and 3 grandsons.

Hope this information is helpful to you.
