My great aunt, Lena Penland Purkey (b. 1904 in Madison County, NC), lived in Morristown, Tennessee when she passed away in the early 1990s. I believe she was survived by 4 daughters. I'm trying to complete research on this branch of the family tree and that of Lena's mother, Hester Netherton Strom Penland, my great grandmother.
Hopefully someone on this board has a lead on Lena.
