Purdy/Pudick - Germans from Russia
I am interested in Purdy's from Germany via Russia.The
original family name was Pudig.When the family came
to the U.S. it split into at least three groups.The
first remained in New York and used the surnames Pudick
and Purdy.The second moved to Texas and used the surnames
Pudig and Purdy.The third moved to Georgia and used
the surname Purdy.
I am looking for any information about the parents and
descendents of Johann Carl "Charles" PUDIG of Prussia.
Charles PUDIG was born in Prussia in 1809 and moved to
Kurland (Latvia) where he married his wife Anna Louisa
Aicheler (b. 1816) around 1836.They moved to southern
Russia around 1840, and eventually came to NY city in 1849. Charles and his wife had eight children:
descendents of Johann Carl "Charles" PUDIG of Prussia.
