John O. Purdy,
I jumped to the conclusion that the other John Purdy who asked about Nathan and co. also posted this query. This is because you are asking about what appear to be cousins. This is far from certain however.
At present, we think that a James Purdy born 1788 (said to be in NY), son of Daniel 6 Purdy and Mary Peet, married Matilda Holt.James died 1883 age 95 in Arcadia, Lapeer Co., Michigan and was with Richard Purdy in the 1860 census.Known children so far are Robert Nelson 8 Purdy 1824, Reuben 8 Purdy born 1828 at Brighton, Ontario (near Belleville and Trenton), and Richard born 1829.Reuben was in 1860 at Kimball, St. Clare Co. Michigan.

Daniel 6 Purdy was son of Joseph 5 Purdy, Loyalist, son of Obadiah 4.There is also a Daniel 6 Purdy said to be born about the same time who married Mary Jane Burns also in Digby, N.S.His descendants appear also in Ontario and Ohio and Michigan, in the same area as the grandchildren of the other Daniel!!

Feel free to email me about this. You're not the only one looking at this family.
