The last record I have of Daniel Purdy - he was still living in Louth, Lincoln
Ontario as of the 1861 Canadian Census. He was 23. However a clue may be
that he was not listed in the 1881 census.

The only siblings that were known to go to the US were Benjamin who in the
1880 US census was in Saugatuck Tp., Allegan, Mich, and my GGMother Lavina
who went to Cleveland Ohio in the late 1880's.

Cornelius Purdy's son William Carleton died in Seattle, Washington in 1942.

I don't know anything else about him, but found his picture on the web as a
30 year old in 1905.

Thank you again for discovering Elsie's parents. Since then I have found both
sides came from New Amsterdam going back to the original settlers there.
An interesting fact is that the father was Cornelius Vanderbilt Johnson, and
his younger 1st cousin was the famous Cornelius Vanderbilt .
