Hi Richard,
I don't remember if we sorted this out in private email, but I'm putting info here anyway for the lurkers...
Grandmother of Thomas Lyon 9 Purdy who died in 2003 was Mary Willis Lyon, who was married to Isaac Hart 7 Purdy. Isaac Hart 7 Purdy had a sister Jane Grant 7 Purdy born 1822. His father Isaac 6 was married three times to:
1. Lydia Clift
2. Ann Hart (mother of Isaac Hart Purdy 1813)
and 3. Jane Grant (mother of Jane Grant Purdy 1822).
Isaac 6 was son of Joseph Lyon 5 Purdy who was the first Purdy settler at what is now Purdys NY, and who built in 1776 the house that is used as a restaurant there.

Isaac Hart 7 Purdy was the one who lobbied to have the railway line run through his land. He granted them right to use the land provided that they maintained a station at Purdys, and after they ran the line in 1847 he built a hotel at Purdys. In recent years the railway tried to close the station at Purdys and his descendants then asked for their land back, so there is still an active station at Purdys.
