Alex,
Could you tell me more about the Purdy/Way line?I am relatively sure that my husband's gr-grandmother, Addie Maria (pronounced Mariah) Roberts is the daughter of Lyman Roberts, son of possibly John Roberts/Maria(h) Way.In 1850's Census for Manchester, I find Mariah Roberts living with Lyman Way and Mary b. 1775 and 1785 respectively.Mariah b. 1809 seems to have a son, Lyman Roberts who was b. in 1833.I know that my Lyman C. Roberts named his daughter, Addie Maria (pronounced Mariah).I think that after tracing two other Lyman Roberts, this one is probably the correct one.
Do you know anything about Mariah?or her husband, the possible John Roberts? There are other Roberts who live in Grafton, NH at the same time and had a son named, Lyman b. in 1833, too.He, however, married someone else named Polly.
I would appreciate any help.
