I now have a copy of a deed from Clay County, 13 June 1860 that names the heirs of Benjamin Purdum. Thomas Purdam, Lewis Purdum, John Selby, Rebecca Selby, Barbara J. Purdum, Jeramiah Purdam, James Finch, Mary Ann Finch, John Abnath, James Abnath (or Abernatha, probably Abernathy. Selby is rendered Selba). The deed references the Clay County Circuit Court, May Term, 1860.
I have also received copies of Benjamin's probate file. His widow was Elizabeth (Brown) Purdum. Her children are mentioned but not named. At his death, Benjamin owed Catharine Purdum $50 alimony. Thomas Purdum was her conservator.
Interested in corresponding with descendants.
