My late husband was a descendant of the Maryland Purdums. The information I have from research done by a Purdum descendant living in MD. years ago, the name is PURDUM. It is possible the Purdums and Purdoms are related since the Census takers were notorious spellers. I have found several different spellings of our ancestors last name. There is a Mordecca (Mordecai) listed as an ancestor but no Warren. Walter, MD. later in Ross Co., OH, is the father of Samuel, the g-grandfather of my late husband. I have our family tree from my husband, James Edward Purdum to the 1st John Purdum from Wales.
