Jarret D. Purdue would have been my GRGRGR Grandfather. His wife Rebecca's maiden name was Farmer. I estimate they were married in 1819 or before as their first child was born in 1819. I have no further information on her. Jarret emigrated to southern Illinois and settled in what is known as Romine Prairie (currently in the area of Kell, IL.) Their daughter Mary Landrum Purdue, one of their 10 children, married Elisha Cantrel Burge, my GRGR grandfather. The Burge family also had emigrated from Montgomery Co., Tenn. The area where these families settled in Illinois is Marion County. The county seat is in Salem IL. Town closest to settlements was Centralia IL.
Curious as to your relationship to the Purdue's? I would like your E-Mail address if possible.
Claude C. Boles
