I am researching the Purcell family of Ballard Co, Ky. My ggrandfather was Cornelius Purcell, not sure where he was born, he in 1889 and is buried in the Old Blandville Cementary, Ballard Co, Ky. My grandfather was the youngest and was only 5 when his father died, so he never discuss beyond the immediate family. There are Purcell's in the Paducah area, but my grandfather wasn't sure if there was a family connection.
I know Cornelius was in the Civil War, a cousin has a picture of him from an enlistment local paper article. Did not find any Purcell's in the Ballard Co 1860 census.
Any help would be greatly appreciated....
