Thomas and Mary Purcell (nee Considine)and 9 of their children arrived in Moreton Bay on the Earl Russell in 1863. They came from Drumcliffe,County Clare, Ireland and settled in Gympie, Queensland. Thomas lived to be 101 years of age and died in Gympie in 1890. Mary died in 1901 in Gympie. Thomas' brother, Andrew and his wife, Brudget Scanlon had come to Australia in 1854 aboard the John Fielden and settled in Fortitude Valley, Queensland.
I would welcome any information regarding these families and am happy to share any information I have gathered.
Thanks, Bernadette
