Kathryn, it should not have been that hard to get her death certificate. I know they don't look overly hard, since they get to keep the money anyway in most cases. But if you had the date of birth and death there is no excuse for this poor service. I checked the LDS site to see if the Garfield County death records were microfilmed but apparently they aren't. If LDS has them you can just look for yourself, which is much easier. LDS does have some old funeral home records on microfilm, if you knew which one handled her funeral. That is usually listed in the obit; do you have an obit? Len
