I have done some searching of the parish registers of that area, and the name PULLING/ PULLEN is common in that locality, so your John may not be closely connected, but John , the father, COULD be the brother of my George. If he is , then the parents would be George and Love ( HARRIS). Their 3 children were baptised in the independent chapel of monks and corsham.
Could you perhaps look at the names of the other children ( ie John junior's siblings) ?
If any of the children are called george or Love, then it would be a reasonable assumption. Also I would suggest that you look for a marriage of a John PULLING just before the birth of the first child that you can find. If you find it on the IGI or on an index, then send for the film, because it should give more info which might determine which john he is.
I'll keep you informed, as Im still working on this line,
Prue.
