Hilary-
Sorry to say but we aren't looking at the same Gideon Pulliam. The Gideon, Rhonda and I were referring to was the son of James Pulliam who was the son of the Gideon that you were referring to. James was a brother to Frances who married Henry Newman. It is confusing because my great grandfather, Gideon, married Mary Jane Gough. It's true the older Gideon who is the father of Frances and James is many
times shown as being married to a Frances Goff. I have never seen any proof of this and have been unable to locate any Goffs who might be her parents.
In the Virginia Albemarle Co, Court records, deeds 1793-1794 there is recorded a transaction selling 153 acres to John Dellor by a Fanny Francis. This land is adjacent to land owned by Gideon Pulliam. In later transactions Gideon's wife is named as Frances (Fanny) Pulliam. If anyone hasmore information concering these deeds we may be able to determine the last name of the Frances who is married to the older Gideon Pulliam.
James
