Abstracted from "History of Fredricksburg, VA", page 168, by Silvanus Jackson Quinn, published 1908.

"On the South corner of Main & Fredrick Street stood Traveler's Rest, a tavern of considerable notoriety & popularity kept by Jesse Pullen. It was the headquarters for all circuses & managers & was frequented by large numbers of laboring men after a days toil was over. The house was destroyed some years before the civil war and the lot remained vacant for nearly 60 years."

The question is - which Jesse Pullen? There were several Jesse Pullen who were from the Northern Neck counties & descended from Henry & Mary.
