Erastus was a Methodist minister. He was indeed married three times. His wives are 1) Mahala E. Folks,
2) Alice Hinkle, 3) Rosetta Anderson. Children by Alice: Franklin and Charles. Children by Mahala:
Bernard, Pearly, Cora, Willa Ann, Mary Effie. Children by Rosetta: Erastus, Alden, Coy, Clemence (my
grandmother), Berti, Vada, Zelda, Rosa, Edra. Not sure of some of the spellings. I have been told that
Erastus may have had some 20+ children.

I am looking for information on Erastus Solomon Pugh b. Mar 14 1858 Pocahontas, WV d. 1941 Webster, WV ... he had 2 different wives .. wife #1 was Mahala Elizabeth Folks b. 1858 and married around 1878 ... wife #2 was Rosetta Isabelle Anderson b. Mar 4 1876 WV d. 1968 Randolph Co., WV ... I would like to get info on each of these women and their children ... thanks for any help!! Teresa

1910 US Census lists Erastas married to Rosie for 14 years with 6 children and 4 living. It lists this as
his 3rd marriage.

ERASTUS PUGH FAMILY;
Erastus Solomon Pugh (1858-1941) had three wives during his lifetime; two preceded him in death. There were children by all three marriages. His first child. Bernard, was born 1880 and his last child, Alden, was born in 1915 – a time span of 35 years between their births. Children from each marriage

Do you know if Erastus Pugh was a minister? If so, he was my grandfather. I have not accumlated much info on them. I believe he was married 3 times. My father Alden Pugh was his youngest child. My Erastus had 20-some children by 3 marriages, so I'm kind of dreading the work that involved here. My uncle, Coy Newton, did a family genealogy book before his death. I didn't get a copy of it then. I would imagine it is available somewhere in his hometown, which is Parkersburg, WV. The only other child of this Erastus I'm sure of is Rev. Charles Newton. Charles and Coy were half-
brothers to my father. Also, my father spoke of Hacker Valley WV as the family homeplace.
