I have two brothers, one in Texas, one in Utah, and a male 1st cousin in California, who are direct descendants of James Pugh and Joan Price of Wales. My grandfather's youngest son still lives here in Texas as well, but he is from a second marriage of my grandfather. All of Grandfather's children from his first marriage are deceased, except for this elderly youngest son, J.E.,of a second marriage. I wish I could get them to respond and help with this project...none of which seem to be interested or cooperative with my genealogical research. I have also found the DNA testing to be very expensive...especially in these hard economic times. I wonder if J.E. would help??? ...I do not know. My 4G.Grandfather, Asa Pugh, changed his name from Pugh to Peugh, as did his brother Ney Pugh when they moved to Pike Co., Georgia. The other siblings kept the Pugh Spelling. They were sons of Jehu Pugh and Elizabeth Kinman, of Jesse Pugh/Elizabeth Stewart, Thomas Pugh/and his cousin, and James Pugh/Joan Price of Wales. Several of the James Pugh descendants split up in PA, VA, and in NC to go north and to spread across the northern and then to the western parts of the United States...as did David Pugh's descendants. David Pugh was a brother of James Pugh. I still have several Pugh/Peugh cousins in Georgia at this time. Warren Williamson died a few years back. He was a great help, as he shared his research with me. He also referred to some of Minnie Mae's work. William "Bill" Hand was another cousin working on our line of Pugh/Peugh as well as others, whom I have corresponded with recently. She is continuing on into the Old World Ancestors. We are related to Charles II and Eleanor De Aquitain and others per their research and that of others. I was a Peugh until I married. My line descends from James Pugh, to Thomas Pugh, Sr.(American Revol), to Jesse Pugh (American Rev), to Jehu Pugh, to Asa Pugh/Peugh(moved to Pike Co.,GA), to Andrew 'Jack'son Peugh (Civil War), John Joseph Peugh b.1853 (preacher from GA.He grew up enduring the Civil War as a very young child.), to John Allen Peugh (farmer from AL), to Martin O. Peugh (farmer)TX, to three children and their descendants (now spread across the USA and into other parts of the world).
