My husband's mother was Winifred Puffett, illegitimate, born 20 June 1899 and placed at birth in Home for illegitimate babies (Waifs & Strays) in Upper Holloway, London. Her mother we believe to be Mary Ann Puffett, born 1872, Great Waltham, Essex. The baby, Winnie, was taken from the Baby Home to rural Paddock Wood, Kent to be fostered with the King family along with another illegitimate baby girl from the Home, Olive Mason, who died about 9 years later. We believe Mary Ann's father to be William Puffett, b. 1824 Little Easter, Essex, and mother Rebecca Puffett, b. 1837 Horndon on the Hill. We also believe Mary Ann Puffett had siblings, Annie T, and William G, both born in Gt. Waltham, Essex.

Does this connect with any person you know of ? We would love to hear.
