There was an M. Pruden who had a marble yard in Lexington, Ky. around 1840. The famed Joel Tanner Hart sculpturer was working in this yard engraving monuments and tombstones at this time. M. Purden was also in the Lexington, Ky. 1860 U.S. Census. His occupation is shown as Master Marble Works. His age is 45. Birth place is shown as Pennsylvania. A 44 year old female Pruden (couldn't read her first name) and an 24 year old Ellen Goggin? is also listed under his household. He is probably listed in the 1850 and possibly other Kentucky census's so please look there also.
