Below is the lineage for my own line. To my knowledge, John Prudden (1416-1501) is my earliest known ancestor. Note the two Ds in the surname of Rev. Peter Prudden who migrated to North America and founded Milford Connecticut. The second D does not exist for John Peter Pruden (b. 1778 in Middlesex, only 37 miles from Kings Walden) whose migration to North America is the source of the Canadian line of Prudens; however, due to the proximity of Kings Walden and Middlesex (only 37 miles!), I'm sure they share a common ancestor although I have not yet seen any evidence of it.

John Prudden about 1416-After 1501 in Kings Walden, Hertfordshire County, England
Thomas Prudden I 1439-May 1506 in Kings Walden
Thomas Prudden II the Younger 1464-1538 in Kings Walden
Thomas Prudden III 1487 - 24 May 1559 in Kings Walden
Thomas Prudden IV 1510 14 Nov 1558 in Kings Walden
Peter Prudden 1535 in Kings Walden - 1600 in Luton, Bedfordshire County, England
Robert Prudden 1561-1617 in Kings Walden
Rev. Peter Prudden 1601-1656 (born in England, then founded Milford, Conn.)
Rev. John Prudden 1645-1725
Joseph Prudden 1692-1776
Joseph Prudden 1692-1776
Benjamin Prudden 1730-1799
Joseph Pruden 1764-?
John B. Pruden 1803-1865
John Frank Pruden 1851-1910
John Bascom Baines Pruden 1884 -?
Ralph Waldo Pruden 1926-1996 (My father)
Ross Pruden 1968-? (me)
