Here's what I have:
1870 US census in Detroit - William C Prouty is living with his father Fayette and mother Catherine. Lizzie is shown as boarding but a line is drawn thru the word. She may have been married to William around this time. Their first son, Fayette Scott Prouty was born 23 May 1873.
1880 Census in Detroit at 454 7th St. William and Elizabeth and Fayette are living with their servant Catherine Gross. William is shown as a grocer.
1883 - I have a family letter that Lizzie wrote to her sister Catherine Barker in Toronto stating that she was ill but was still planing a visit to Toronto in the spring.
1900 US census Shows William married to a different Elizabeth C. ? in 1890 with no children. I was unable to locate a death record form my Lizzie Scott Prouty. William was secretary of a Carriage Works.
1910 US census shows William married again to a Isabelle Rand since 1906(daughter of Nathaniel Rand. At this time he works for a carriage shop,
Their son Fayette and his wife Anna are living with a cousin names William Prouty age 31.
William's sister Eugenia Blass is married now to a David Miller, a Congregational clergyman since 1903 and their 12 yr old niece Eugenia Prouty is living with them
1920 Census - Detroit, Mi - William C Prouty is now 73 and divorced and listed as a boarder. Fayetter and Anna are living in Greenfield Village, at 91 Grand River, Detroit MI
1930 Census - Could not find William Prouty - Did find his son Fayette Prouty listed as a patient in the Wayne County Home and Insane Asylum in Nankin, Wayne, MI.
Maybe this info will help you.
