Dear Jane
Thanks for your note.My sisters remember my dad talking very highly of Jim Vosper.I believe they were good friends as boys growing up in Pen Argyl in the early 1900's.My uncle Russell Fuge and his wife Dorothy passed away in 1994 and I was executor of their estate, since I lived in the Allentown area at that time. They are buried in Fairview cemetery.I have pictures of the headstones for my grandparents, John and Mary Elizabeth (Kellow)Fuge and great grandparents Thomas and Susanna (Amy) Fuge.I believe some of my great uncles are also buried there, but I only have a picture of James' headstone. If you could check any other Fuge headstones over there, I would appreciate it.
My uncle Russ had contacted a vicar in England when he was researching the Kellow side of our family. The vicar sent the following information on the Prouts:
Matthew Prout b. 1801;d. 2/1884 married Elizabeth Boney (Bonney) 5/16/1835
They had seven children:Alice Prothesa b. 12/25/1842; Elizabeth Jane b. 12/25/1842; Caleb 7/5/1851; Susanna b. 7/5/1851; Marjory Brokenshire b. 1853; Keturah Ann (my great grandmother, also buried in Fairview Cemetery) b. 8/8/1855; Lavinia Bolt b. 7/1/1861.My sister just received the marriage license from England of Keturah Ann Prout and Samuel Honey (Honney) Kellow. She suggested that if Martin Ealey had been born in Cornwall, England that you might be able to obtain his birth certificate from there. It would list his parents. My sister wrote the following:If Jane wants more info on Alice Prothesia Prout, i.e. birth records to verify that she's a twin, then I'd suggest contacting the following because that's where I got the marriage records for Keturah.
Tell her to write to the following address and ask if they have a birth/marriage record for her. It will probably cost her about $10 Am.money (about $20 in pounds sterling) to get them if they have them. They will let her know if they have anything before she sends money.
Mrs. Nicola Le Couteur Bisson
Superintendent Registrar
Bodmin Registration District
The Register Office
Lyndhurst
66 St. Nicholas Street
Bodmin, Cornwall, EnglandPL31 1AG
As you can see from the birthdates above, there were two sets of twins in this family. This is of great interest to my family since I have twin sisters and twin nieces. There were also two sets of twins in my grandfather Fuge's family. So it is interesting to see this genetic trend.
Let me know if you need more info on these Prouts.I do not have the marriage date for Alice Prothesa and George Vosper, so if you have that it would help.I have the marriage partners for all the girls that married but not all the dates.Let me know if you would like that info. Thanks for the info.
