Hi Jack,
I'm from the Welsh Prouts too. I was told by relatives that we are descended from Flemish immigrants. The story was that three brothers came over from Belgium(?) and settled in Wales and England. Do you have any information on this or my other posting (below), thanks.
Does anyone have any information about the ancestors of the Prouts living in Stackpole Elidor (St Twynnells) Pembroke, South Wales at the time of the 1901 census? I believe my great great grandfather was the head of the household of these Prouts. According to my information he was called James (Bandy) Prout and was stud farmer born around 1850. Any information about him or his ancestors would be appreciated. Many thanks
