Hi Scott
I have already posted some info about my dads family from his mother's side Proud's.
What i find interesting is that some of your family were from the Penrith area and the North East too. Penrith is a small market town, which funnily enough is where i was born. I have been unable to find any Prouds living there at this time, but now i have seen your query i will have another look in the records to see if i turn anything up. There are some listed in Appleby which is a few miles away, but again i have not been able to trace a connection. Census records for 1871& 1881 for both Cumberland and Westmorland Appleby falls in the latter are at my local public records office. It takes a long time to search as you are only allowed 90 mins at a time. If someone else is using the box you want you may have to keep going back. I believe that the records for 1891 will be available next year which may help in the search. If i find any connections i will email or post on site.
