I am researching the John Proud family of England & Pennsylvania.
Parents: John Proud was born in 1802 (Durham, England) and died in 1854 (Rausch
Gap, Pennsylvania). He married Catharine who was born in England. They came to
Pennsylvania (Schuylkill County) in 1850. They had four children. Last known residence:
Rausch Gap, PA for John (1854) and Pine Grove, PA for Catharine (1880).
Child 1: John Proud was born in 1835 (New Castle, Tyne, England). He married
Catharine Poorman (of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania) in 1863. They had seven
children, which will be stated under G-Child#. Last known residence: Pine Grove, PA for
John (1880) and Harrisburg, PA for Catharine (1910).
Child 2: Anthony Proud was born in England. He married Hannah M. Last known
residence: Steelton, PA (1910).
Child 3: Margaret Proud was born in England. Last known residence: Cressona, PA
(1870).
Child 4: Martha Proud (also known as Martin in the 1860 census) was born in England.
Last known residence: Cressona, PA (1870).
G-Child 1: Catharine Proud was born in Pennsylvania. Last known residence: Harrisburg,
PA (1910).
G-Child 2: Alice Carolina Proud was born in Pennsylvania in 1865. Last known
residence: Harrisburg, PA (1910).
G-Child 3: John A. Proud was born in Pennsylvania. He married Annie S. Last known
residence: Philadelphia, PA (1910).
G-Child 4: William Proud was born in Pennsylvania. He married Florence. They had two children, Kathryn and Jack. Last known residence: Philadelphia, PA (1910).
G-Child 5: Percy Proud (aka Pasey) was born in Pennsylvania. Last known residence: Philadelphia, PA (1910).
G-Child 6: Albert L. Proud was born in Pennsylvania. Last known residence: Philadelphia, PA (1910).
G-Child 7: Helen Proud was born in Pennsylvania. She married Lawrence Bowermaster. Last known residence: Harrisburg, PA (1910).
