There is one Hugh Robinson of Slaggyford which purposes setting out in the course of a few weeks should he do so and happen to come any way nigh to you I shall write you a line by him - Mr. Hutton died a few weeks ago at Eamout Bridge through a paralytic stroke which he had while at Featherstone in the month of Augt last and Robt. Blenkinsop has succeeded to his place as steward - Mr. Wallace is now made Lord Wallace of Knaresdale, the game is increasing very much about here the Partaredges in particular, - report says that Brother Thomas wife has got an estate of land left to her by her father worth about 1000 Pounds should it turn out a truth it will be a good thing for Thos. - give my best respects to your wife who and little one or ones, I do not know which, and whether you receive all my letters or not I beg you will continue to write one in the year at least to me as it gives me pleasure to hear from you, I send this by Thomas Moor which formerly belongd to Kirkshaugh & Knaresdale where I was well acquainted with him he is a Taylor to trade, has been in Canada about ten years, has several men under him and is doing well.
