A Practicing Fraud
Dr. Prosser, the cure all man, who was in Gainesville a short time ago, where he was arrested by the city authorities, charged with practicing medicine without a license, is wanted by authorities in Wichita, Kansas, according to the St. Louis Republic. It seems that the doctor has taken in a number of persons in that city, got the money, and then skipped the town. The city authorities here had to release Prosser on account of not having jurisdiction in the case. The county authorities were not cognizant of Prosser’s acts while he was here and consequently he left the city before they were informed of the fraudulent practice. Had County Attorney Rogers learned of the facts in the case while the doctor was here it is most likely that the “cure all” man would today be doing road duty under the supervision of Superintendent Peden.Gainesville Register
Dr. Prosser was in Ardmore (Indian Territory) about three weeks ago. He had 5000 dodgers printed in the Daily Ardmoreite office while there, and doubtless intended to remain in Ardmore some time. His stay, however, was very brief, from the fact that “fakes” are closely watched in Ardmore and the drain upon his purse so persistently kept up, everything being “cash or no go,” he concluded to leave for a more congenial clime.
