Deanne Marie Prosser Earl obituary submitted
DEANNE MARIE EARL, 68, of Westbrook, died Monday, May 28, 2007, at the Sanford Health Center, Sioux Falls, S.D.
Born April 30, 1939, in Albert Lea, she was the daughter of Earl and Marie Hilton Prosser. She married Jerry Earl Oct. 8, 1955.
She attended Albert Lea High School. After marriage, they lived in Albert Lea. In 1976, they moved to Westbrook, where they owned and operated the Elkhorn Inn for many years, and she was the cook and bookkeeper. While living in Albert Lea, she coached a Squirts hockey team, making her the first female hockey coach in the state. In Westbrook, she helped with tournaments at Westbrook Golf Course. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Westbrook.
Surviving are her husband; one daughter, Julie (Randy) VanDeWiele, Windom; two sons, Gregory “Squirrel” Earl, Turtle River, and Steve Earl, Fairmont; one brother, Mike (Joanne) Prosser, Burlington, Iowa; one sister, Patricia (John) Lorenz, Cannon City; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the Almlie Funeral Home, Westbrook, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., and 1 to 2 p.m. Friday at Grace Lutheran Church, Westbrook.
The service will be 2 p.m. Friday at Grace Lutheran Church. Burial will be in the Westbrook Cemetery.
