Hi Anita,

Thanks for posting. I think I have seen this before and it leaves me a little perplexed. My ancestor Henry T Propst married Ellen R Nickerson in 1870. In the next 10 years they had three boys, Lawrence Howard Propst b Jan 11, 1872, Frankie Propst b Jan 2, 1878 and died the same day and Otis Propst born Oct 14, 1880. There was a HUGE gap between Otis' birth and the birth of my great grandmother Daisy May Propst on Dec 4, 1897. I don't know much about this family during this gap in time except they moved from Linn County to Gilliam County (inland along the Columbia River) in 1887.

I guess my answer is: I don't know. I don't know of any Propsts in that time and place who weren't related. I checked the 1880 census and there was only one HT Propst.

Do you have this marriage record? And do you know how long Louisa Elizabeth Moore lived? I wonder if there are any divorce records in this time period just in case my ancestors divorced and then remarried later on.

Lori
