Hi Nell! I think your WJH Probst may be my grandmother's brother, known as Hyman. We visited his da Mary Reed in Gunter in 1964 & years following. Her sis Odessie Harris lived nearby. If so, then this Probst is grandson of Joseph & Magdalena.

Eldest son of J & M was Joseph, b 1832 Germany. Following service in Civil war, he settled in GA, then Dekalb County AL. Sons: Bede, Hyman, Irby, Kelley. Daughters: Annie, Mary(my grandmother, b 1882) & Virgie. All moved to TX around 1900?? Grandmother Mary returned to AL when she married Wm Oscar Boyd.
