Probst (Brooks) Witchie Reunion
Date: Saturday, July 24, 2004
Where: Centralia, WA – Borst Park
Time: Potluck starts at noon
It all began 150 years ago when Thoephile Probst & Frenena Witchie emigrated from Switzerland to America in the 1850’s. They were married in Pennsylvania in 1855. They moved to Ohio then West Virginia where their 15 children were born. The 14 surviving children and the parents all moved to Western Washington in the 1880’s-90’s. He changed his name to David Brooks as did all of the children except Dominick. David and Fannie died and were buried in Centralia. They were survived by all 14 children and 37 grandchildren. 5 siblings died DSP, so we are the descendants of: Lavina, Dominick, Fred, Lucinda, Albert, William, Henry, Bertha, Edward and Anna.
Last year 6 of these 10 branches were represented at the picnic. Come this year and find current and interesting facts about our clan. We guarantee you will meet cousins you didn’t know you have! Bring photos, scrapbooks, or any articles of interest. And lawn chairs to be comfortable as we reminisce.
