I have a John William Henry Gilton born in Lauderdale Co., AL on $ Jul 1833 , I don"t know his fathers name except Gilton, but a paper copied from onegreatfamily at
http://www.onegratfamily.com/surname/Gilton?aid=9781992&PID=990659 has John Giltons mothers name as Jordan Probst. I've just now started to serch for Jordan Probst & Gilton. if I find out anything I will post it are let you know somehow.
