Nancy Pritchett Tennessee Iowa

Looking for info on my g-grandmother, Nancy Pritchett. She was born in Wilson County Tennessee in 1858. She married James Henry Smith in 1875 in Smith County Tennessee. The interssting thing is that family tradition has it that she was left on a doorstep as a baby. In researching, her father was Benjamin Pritchett, son of George Pritchett and Elizabeth Compton. Benjamin was married twice, first to a Polly (would like last name) and secondly to Jane Robertson. According to dates Jane should be Nancy's mother. On the 1925 Iowa census she listed her father as Benjamin Pritchett and mother as Susan Lawrence. When she married she listed her name as Nannie Pritchett on her wedding license. There were several Lawrence families in the area at the time. Her father, Benjamin died a few years after her birth so I don't know if she may have been raised by relatives names Lawrence or if Benjamin has an affair with Susan Lawrence and the result was Nancy. Any help or direction would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Brad
