OK, that's the direction I was going. We have a (aunt)Liddie/Lydia Pringle b.1888 so I expect the name was handed down from an Aunt or Cousin since that was so common then. I checked, it was not from her Mother or a Grandmother.

Our Pringles were at Limestone, Burkburnette, Grosbeck, Vernon, and Comanche. There may be a clue here so, if you want to check further, G'GPa was: John A. Pringle b. 1804, SC - d. c.1878, TX.
GPa was: Matthew James Pringle b. 1852, FL - d. 1944, Vernon, TX .........dw
