Jim
Sorry for the delay in replying to your message.
I have checked the 1841 census for Redenhall and it seem that 'your' John and Hannah did have a son John aged 6, but I have also found John age 7 with his mother Esther Pryme in Aslacton the same year.
John Prime married Esther Youngman on 24 July 1826 in Aslacton.
I have also found a death for a John Prime in Sept 1840 Depwade Vol 13 page 12 which I think is Esthers Husband, which would account for him not being on the 1841 census.
So now we have two John's born about the same time! both with John's as fathers.
I think that the John from Aslacton is my ancestor, as he states Aslacton as his birth place on later censuses
There is a lot of Primes around that area so I still think between our families.
Regards
Nigel
