In the 1850 census in Saugus, Essex county, Massachusettes, I found my GGgrandmother Eliza A PRIOR. She is 19 yrs old, born in Maine, and living in the household of Samuel Augustus PARKER and his wife Mary Watson (PRIOR) PARKER. Samuel and Mary Watson had two children; Daniel A PARKER who was 2 yrs old, and his sister Hannah M. PARKER who was 5 months. Living in the same household was Eliza (as already mentioned) and Sarah PRIOR who was 16 yrs old and also born in Maine. Mary Watson was 23 yrs old and also of Maine birth. Since their ages are so close and yet the relationship of these women is not noted in the 1850 census, I suspect that they were sisters. Eliza A PRIOR married Augustus A. REMICK in Providence, RI on 13 Sept 1858 and they had 7 children in Grafton county,NH. I come from their firstborn, Willard Spaulding Heath REMICK's line.Willard was born in Brockton, Mass in 1861.
I am looking for may PRIOR lineage. Also please note, the census spells the PRIOR surname as "PRIOR" not PRYER or PRIER or any other possible way. The PRIOR surname, from what I have been able to find out, seems to be all over the New England states. And as best as I can assertain, was esp in the Duxbury, Plymouth, Mass area in the earliest of times. But this doesn't help me find the parents of Eliza, Sarah or Mary Watson. If you can help me in anyway with this line, please email me at <gail_veve@yahoo.com>. I would be so grateful for any and all help. Thank you Gail Veve
