Priebe is not uncommon name. You can find it in 2 different reference books of names and their meanings. Sorry I don't remember the exact name of the books.
(Pom.,Sil.) E Ger. slav Nickn for Pribislav (see Pritzlaff) slav nobles' and princes' name; King Ottokar II (Premysl) of Bohemia also originally bore this name. Pribe Gawarn ( a page, young nobleman) rugen Island 1316. also (with suffixes) Priebke (Pribek, Pribil, Priebisch, (Preibisch). Priebsch, Priebalsch, etc. Cf Pribeke von Schaprode, Stralsund 1300, Pribeke, Ro 1270. Priebsch was common around Gablonz-Reichenberg: Martin Pribisch near Reichenberg 1560. Hans Pribisch, Liegnitz 1413. Similarly cf. Bogisch for Bogislav.
