Hi there Dee Whitaker! You are a close cousin of my particular branch of the Prickett family. Your grandmother was my great grand Aunt. I am descended from her elder brother Rev. Benjamin Clayborne Prickett(1872-1922) who is buried there in the Philadelphia Methodist Church cemetery as well( right next to your grandparents I believe.) Their father was Jesse James Prickett when he was born but changed it later in life when the infamous outlaw Jesse James came into the American experience. This information I have from another cousin on Harriett Jane Gray's family's side. Harriett was Jesse(or James's) wife whom he married when he got back from the War in 1865, he was 19 going on 20 and she was 25 and a war widow of Thomas Marcus Rawls (1836-1864). She had two daughters by Mr. Rawls. I have a good deal of information about these families and would be glad to share whatever I have with you.
By the way according to my kinship report you are my 2nd cousin once removed or my mother Edith Prickett Alexander's 2nd cousin.
I hope to hear from you soon!
William M. (Mark) Alexander
