Hannah Melinda Price Findley's birthdate is shown as May 15, 1788, in her daughter Melinda Cox's bible, which also lists her father as William Price. Her tombstone gives just the birth year 1785, so I think that suspect.
The 1850 Lumpkin Co, GA. census lists Hannah Finly as 62 (b c1788) and the 1860 Marshall Co, AL. census lists Hannah Finley as 71 (c1789) and birth place as South Carolina. Her husband moved to Georgia from Edgefield Dist., S.C.So her father could be the William Price who married Elizabeth Littlepage Hudson in Virginia on October 10, 1787. This appears even more likely if Hannah's only brother was indeed the Charles Hudson Price of Edgefield Dist., S.C., as some say.I've been told that William Price Jr. who married Susannah Cocke did NOT marry Elizabeth Littlepage Hudson as a second wife, as stated in Vina Price Chandler's book; that these were two separate Williams.I've been told also that William Price died in Edgefield Dist., S.C., before 1790 leaving Hannah and one son, and that a careful study of the location of the other daughters of William Price Jr. and Susannah (Cocke) indicates that their daughter Hannah married some one else and never moved far from her sisters.Hannah Melinda Price Findley had a son named Williamson Findley.I'm thinking it might be more likely that her father William (who married Elizabeth Littlepage Hudson of Virginia) was a son of Daniel of Edgefield and that the YOUNGER William Price who administered Daniel's estate, and who is usually thought to be Daniel's son, was likely a grandson instead, and a nephew of the William Price who married Elizabeth L. Hudson.
