Richard Price Died After 1840 Benton County, AR
Richard Price appears next to Campbell Price in the 1830 Washington County, Arkansas Territory Census.Campbell Price was the son of Micajah Price and Penelopia Gardner of Johnston County, NC and he died in nearby McDonald County, MO.Richard Price next appears in Ball Township, Benton County, AR and he died there after 1840.His widow Phoebe appears in the 1850 Census for Ball Township, Benton County, AR with children Benjamin H. (1829), Delilah (1829), Elvia (1832), Priscilla (1832), Sophia M. (1834), and Leanna E. (1840).All of the children were born in Arkansas.A search of marriage records indicated that Richard Price married Phoebe Abbott 6/29/1819 in Gallatin County, IL.It is obvious from the marriage date that Richard and Phoebe had other children.Since it is known that Richard's son Benjamin H. Price was friends with an Abbott it makes sense since his mother was an Abbott as well.Since Richard Price married in Gallatin County, IL where other Johnston County, NC Prices are known to have gone, and since he is listed in a census record with Campbell Price who is known to have been born in Johnston County, NC, then it follows that Richard Price was probably from there as well.
