Charles - Thank you for your reply.Regarding the elder Charles Price - the documentation that links my heritage (Joshua Price) is found in the South Carolina Magazine of Ancestral Research Vol VI #2 Spring 1979 Darlington County Memorialized Records. It shows that Charles Price did a "deed of gift" of 75 acres land to Charles, also to Shadrach and to Joshua. He also deeded his dwelling house & tract of land. This was done June 1, 1789.Charles & William are in the census in Darlington, SC for the next 2 census.Only Prices there. The following census has Martha Price listed as head of household. My Joshua went on to Washington Co GA and was in the War of 1812 (have his muster rolls). He marries Nancy Bailey (daughter of James Bailey). Two different researchers on Ancestry.com have Charles with middle initial of C. One has him born in Wales - other in the Carolinas. Both researchers have the 4 boys listed but also several other children.I do not have any documentation of the other children - mainly daughters.I am participating in the Price dna study and my line connects to the Prices in Marion Co. SC with the oldest known being William (dob est. 1706ish)& Ann.So far - however I can't find the link.I could see where your Charles & his brother (probably Shadrach if this Charles out of Darlington is yours) could have traveled west. There are lots of Charles Prices - however.I believe William was probably the oldest as he was deeded the dwelling place.Hope this helps. If you have not considered participating in the Price dna study, hopefully you will do so - it would certainly give you more information of which group of Prices - there are about 6 - that your Charles is connected to.
Pat
