I have been reading "The Maryland/Deleware Genealogist" Volume I, from 1959-1960. There are tax lists from Spes Utij (Spesutia) Hundred, Baltimore Co MD from 1700 and the years surrounding. My ancestor, Thomas Prebble, appears one of those years as Thomas Sprible! I know it is the same guy, because of his neighbors. I think some transcriber mis-read or mis-heard...but then, one of those years, my Thomas Gilbert was Thomas Gilbord, and another years, he was Thomas Gifford!

Three other ancestors of mine appear on the same lists, as in Richard Simpson, Richard Perkins, and Thomas Bucknal/Bucknel. Three other guys on the lists are brothers-in-law of various ancestors. Another several guys are associates, as in signers of Wills, neighbors, etc. And two other guys probably have something to do with my Robinsons! I am guessing it is not often one can get that much information from one three-hundred-year-old document.
