I have a German Bible containing Preuss information and would like to reconnect the Bible to a descendant. It is written in old German writing and there is a bit that I cannot read. Here's what I can read:
Father: Carl Preuss, born April 1855 (could be 1865)
Mother: M? (last name looks like it may begin with an R), born July 24, 186? (may be 1861)
They were married in 1884
Parents of the mother are given and again I am not able to read the names. The father was born April 17, 1834 and the mother was born ? 25, 1833.
The children of Carl and M? Preuss:
Emil, Frederick, Bertha, Otto, Hattie, Robert, Minnie, Lillie, Elsie, Willie, and Alfred. There is an additional note on this page which I cannot read. No dates are given for any of these births.
On another page are listed what I believe to be the deaths of:
Emil -- May 22, 1896; Frederick -- July 31, 1887; Charlie Aug. 6, 1892
There is a small card with a handwritten note: "Grandma Preuss sat in her rocker with this open to read all the time. 1800's"
On the back page is written: "Mrs. Carl Preuss"
There are two torn bits of a ballot dated Nov. 8, 1938. One of the offices that is listed on the ballot is "For trustees of the University of Illinois."
