Thanks to an Antipodean genealogist whose handwriting expertise is much greater than mine, we have figured out that this refers to "marshland," of which apparently there is plenty in the English county of Norfolk.

My translator also pointed me to the "londonlives" website with London names from the 1690s, showing these individuals:

John Prittyman, Broad Street Ward. St Christophers Precinct;

NFN Prettyman, Farrington Ward;

Thomas Prettyman, custom house officer, Tower Ward;

"Mrs." Prettyman, a Roman Catholic, St Martin in the Fields, Exchange Ward;

Elizabeth Prettyman, Dutchy Liberty District;

NFN Prittiman, St Mary Islington District;

Mary Prettyman burial, Aldgate;

William Preteman and Debora his wife, Covent Garden precinct;

Mary Prittiman, servant, High Street;

Mary Prittiman, Aldgate ward, married 1701;

John Prittyman, victim of a theft, Parish of St. Christophers, 1704 (a jury found a servant guilty, and she was branded);

Sarah Pritiman, 1705 burial, Tower Hill, Joseph Pritiman, her father;

Elizabeth Pretyman, spinster, 1721 probate, St Margaret Westminster parish.
