I found the marriage date of a Prettyman Davis and Sarah Poynter in Barren County,Ky April 20, 1825. In a deed book in Barren County,Ky in 1839 heirs of John Davis deceased Wife Frances Davis, Children Foster Davis, wife Durandy;,Elizabeth(Elijah Poynter); Permelia Davis; Judith
(Edward D. Saunderson);John G. Davis(Elizabeth Ann___)
I was thinking that Prettyman might be a son also of this John Davis since they were in Barren County in the same time period and married Poynters. My Elizabeth(Eliza Ann) and her brother Foster Davis ended up in Effingham County, Il. and are buried next to each other in Morris Cemetery, as is Elijah Poynter and his second wife.Another researcher found Prettyman and Sarah Davis in Marshall County, Il. in 1850 and in Livingston County in 1860. Prettyman is in Marshall County in 1870 without Sarah in a Miller family.
The name Prettyman was so different thought it could be the surname of Frances who married John Davis. Rootsweb also has a Prettyman Davis as son of William Davis and Elizabeth Montgomery and one a son of William Davis and Anna Watts. It's an unusual name so thought to look into it.
