MR. JOHN EDGAR PRESSLY passed away at 3:30 o'clock this morning at his home on Hemphill Avenue, following a desperate illness of about 10 days from influenza , followed by pneumonia.
MR. PRESSLY was a son of the late MR. and MRS. E.L. PRESSLY and was in his 26th year, with every prospect of a happy and useful life ahead of him. For a number of years he was engaged in the mercantile business , and insurance business, at the time of his death was a furniture salesman. He was industrious and affable and made friends of all who met him; and leaves friends by the hundreds to mourn his untimely passing. He survived by his widow, who was MISS EVELYN McALILEY and 4 children. He also leaves a sister, MISS KATIE PRESSLY, and the following brothers:
MR. W.O. PRESSLY, Chester, MR. HARDIN PRESSLY, Tucson, Arizona, and MR. JAMES PRESSLY, Fort Valley, Ga. He was an earnest and devout member of Lowrys Baptist Church.
The funeral services will be conducted at the home tomorrow morning by Rev. E.W. Davis and interment will be in Evergreen cemetery.
