Probable Pressley familys that fled/moved to Canada post-revolutionary war, the Loyalists from S C & coast. They have specific website now. They also went Illinois.
BUT anyone with info on the other Presley-Presly-Pursley et al name being applied to the early Native American Muscogee/Creek Indians along the Gulf Coast, is needed. Many Presleys on file "Creek Nation" during Cherokee entitlements 1910, rejected as not Cherokee Nation.Have traced Pressley-Presley Presly etc to ca 1725 Ga,Al,Fl Panhandle, as part of the Poarch Creek tribal family crossed with European/Spanish explorers 1600.Need info/link on origin & possible Creek Indian tribe name prior to adaptation of Presley. Which Presley assigned the name to the Creeks & was he Govt Land Agent,Explorer/Trader or wayfaring stranger?contact me direct please if you have indepth info.Thanks.
